Surf3D AGENT: SolarFlareAlertAgent_1.xo WHAT IT DOES: Gathers data from NOAA.gov about solar flare and geomagnetic storm alerts This agent can be set up to send you an email alert. WHAT ITS GOOD FOR Will alert you an impending severe solar flare whoich could cause severe EM storms on Earth. Metric A extracts sentences with flare, solar storm and magnetic as keywords Metric B is the the default for showing you the probability of a class X flare occuring e.g. 20 displayed = 20% probability of a severe class X flare event Metric C gathers the probability of a severe geomagnetic storm in the middle latitudes occuring The Report or emailed Report shows the gathered text and data that will be sent to you should a threshold be met. HOW IT WORKS: Goes to the Space Environment Center at NOAA.gov Checks for any solar flare alerts If the specified alert for X-class flare exceeds a probability of e.g. 20%, an email alert is sent out to you. HOW TO SET IT UP: Save-As the provided SolarFlareAlertAgent.xo to a new name, such as MySolarFlareAlertAgent_1.xo Type preferred text extract keywords into the Metric channel line A To modify the Alert data triggers: Look for the visual occurence of the word on the page - is it the 1st or later mention? Look for the numbers past the word - is the 1st instance of number (including periods as separators) or later instance? e.g. on supplied agent the text in the Metric B channel is#11011"Class X" Finds the 1st number past the 1st visual occurence of "Class X" If the agent does not see the correct threshold, e.g. above 19, then no email alert will be sent Be sure to type in your email address into the Agent Configuration panel, under Email Alert. HOW TO USE IT: Start the agent to see a demo of extraction and gathering. When done, click on the report selection in the pull down menu asscoiated with the main display window No need to GET URL - the agent already has it. You can set this agent to run every so often, using the Agent Configuration panel.
